Change leads and coaches who would rather test a change than announce one.
How it works
- Create an initiative: the name, the reason, up to five outcomes and the boundaries you will not cross.
- Move each experiment through sensing, designed, running and reviewed; the gate stays shut until the hypothesis, the change, the signal and a timebox of one to eight weeks are written.
- Log field notes on leadership, structure and culture, take a safety pulse, and generate the narrative from what is actually recorded.
Questions
- What stops an experiment advancing?
- A missing hypothesis, change, success signal, designer or timebox. A single designer also has to be acknowledged, because a change designed by one person is a different kind of experiment.
- What is the safety pulse?
- A one-to-five reading with fixed labels, plus the signals and concerns behind it. Two low readings in a row raise a warning in the tool rather than waiting for you to notice.
- Is the narrative written for me?
- It is assembled from your experiments, outcomes and field notes over a date range you choose, and it copies out as Markdown for you to edit.
